ALLO'S COLUMN 2007/2008

The first game of season was at wigginton.a tough opener and not alot between the teams.cop had the better chances but lost to a wonder strike from a lad who will never kick a ball again as good as that!!!!

Week 2. at home to nestle in cup.cop were 2-0 down after 2 more goals of the season fron nestle.cop responded with 2 goals, hit the post 3 times and dominated the game.extra time no goals and all the lads wanted to take a penalty.won 4-2 on pens.andy turver made his cop debue and never put a foot wrong all day...well done andy

Week 3..at home to dunnington in the cup.the champs came to town and with a little help from a ref that a day to remember won 4-2 with 2 pens and cop 2 goals dissalowed.a great game from mark pinder the highlight.   week 4. at huntington.a tough game against a big strong team.huntington were the better team in the first half. Fed and mark pinder keeping us in the game. The second half saw cop turn it around and look the better team, but a few chances went begging and they got a last 30 secs penalty.DODGY to the say the least.Agreat team performance but Fed and Mark Pinder the pick of the bunch!! keep ya heads up lads some tough games coming up but we will get their.....one day

Allo

After a few indifferent 1-0 wins and then ashocker away to old malton, lost 3-0.......but a muched improved 2nd half performance, the lads turned on the style at home v rufforth.Chris hall with his first hat-trick for the club, led the way in a 7-1 rout.Followed by goals from gav mears, jake moyes, brendan walsh and tom settle.Captain stu Auton walked off to boos from the crowd for missing from 10yards with no goal keeper to beat.T his was matched by a young ROY ATKO who burst thru from centre back and missed a great chance......hold you head in shame!!!Some excellent performances from the lads but Allos 12pints of guinness showed in the end.Next week at Thorpe..meet 12.45 rec

After a fine win in the cup at wiggy....their first defeat of the season...well done lads,it was away at st.johns, the league leaders.Cop conceded a goal in the first minute, then had the home ref to contend with for the rest of the first half. The only thing he got right was a penalty which tom settle slotted home to make it 2-1 at half time. The second half saw cop dominate for 30mins.Glen up front was outstanding, and wreaked havoc in the st.js defence.2 great chances went wide and the st.js keeper kept them in the game.Only for cop to switch off at the back late on and conced yet again 3-1.With that blow the lads heads dropped and the last five mins saw st.js score to good goals for a 5-1 win. That didnt show a true reflection on the game.A great effort from cop had st,js backs to the wall. Two games against the best footballiong team in the division and weve ginen them 2 hard games only to get nothing.Hard to take!!!

Away to rufforth this week with the hope of turning up for the first half.Stu AND CRONIES NEARLY MISSED THE FIRST HALF along with the kit,but hey we got there on time for kick off!!!!Half time saw cop 2-0 up and coasting(goals from c.hall)And then the tireless running of matty foote saw him tap in for 3-0.Changes were made from their on,but not as bad as Danny Wilsons new Golden hair doo!!!Rufforth got a consolation goal, but cop should have won 9-1 if we put our 1 on 1s away.Good performance in parts, the right result.Time to push on for the cup.well done.

Quarter finals of the cup this week.We only had 10 players to start with due to hols,uni,1st team etc. Then revvie got wiped out and we were down to 9!!!!.The lads battled hard and went off at h/t 2-0 down. The second half started with the wind blowing right in our faces and then the rain came down, but cop had managed to get 11players on the pitch.A great second half perfomance saw us get back to 2-1 and dominate the second half, until homer the ref gave riccal a dodgy free kick and make itr 3-1....cheating sod.Great games by fed, rich and even me!!.If we had 11 players we would have probably won this tie,and if we put the effort in to the whole season like we did today we would be in the top 3.Well done everyone and my reign is nearly over.
