Copmanthorpe|Football Club|About Us
Founded in 1962 with one Senior team, the club now has almost 300 members spread over 2 senior teams, 14 junior teams, an Under 19s team, 5 girls teams and 4 Ability Counts teams. In December 2004 Copmanthorpe FC was awarded the coveted FA ‘Community Charter Standard’.  Along with Poppleton and Fulford, we are one of only three clubs to boast this honour in the York area and one of only nine clubs in the whole of the North Riding County FA area.

Our overall principles are of sport for all, good sportsmanship and for every one of our coaches and players to reach their full potential.  Many Copmanthorpe FC players over the past 40 years  have gone on to play professional and semi-professional football.

The Sat 1st and Reserve team play in The York and District Minster Engineering League, with the 1st team competing in the Premier Division which is the highest standard of senior football in the York area. We welcome and encourage all of you to come and support any of the Cop teams.  The team pages will be updated throughout the season with fixtures, results and match reports.

We now have five very strong Girls teams and our thriving Ability Counts section competes against many league clubs throughout the North.   The quality of the Ability Counts section has been proven by seeing Steven Brown selected for the England Cerebral Palsy squad and going on to play in the CP world cup finals in Brazil. We have also been selected by the National deaf Childrens Society as a deaf Friendly football club.  For a small village club,  we have achieved a lot and are proud to be called Copmanthorpe FC.
