Copmanthorpe|Football Club|Respect

When we started talking about the FA's Respect campaign, we wanted to make sure that we were really doing the right thing.  As a Community Charter Standard Club, we have everything documented, even a Code of Conduct.  You'll find it if you look in the 'Documents' section of the site. One thing were concerned about, though, is whether our junior players really understood what it was all about.  It is there to help protect them after all.  It turns out that they really did not understand what a Code of Conduct is about. So we set up a camera and took a short video.  Watch our video, then watch the Ray Winstone video.  Kids know what they want don't they?

What Do Kids Want?
They want to play the game of football and have fun whilst doing it.
They want support from parents. They want positive encouragement from managers and coaches.
They want to be treated fairly.
They want what everyone else wants in life: a bit of respect.

What are the club doing about it?
We have created our own campaign call Bring Back The Passion.  This has been sanctioned by the County FA and is based upon the fact that players, coaches and parents all have a responsibility to ensure that our club builds an environment based upon sportsmanship, fun and a passion for football.

Copmanthorpe FC is fully committed to the FA Respect campaign at every level.  As a Community Charter Standard Club we are a progressive club who quite simply believe in the principle of combatting unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level; on the pitch and from the sidelines.
